Blue Market & Blutique Receives Generous Donation

December 4, 2025

Huntington High School’s Blue Market and Blutique continues to thrive. It was established to support Huntington High School families facing food insecurity and other needs. Its goal is to collect and distribute supplies, food and clothing, creating a free, robust resource for the district.

Huntington and Harborfields officials came together to benefit the community with a generous donation.

The Blue Market (food pantry) & Blutique (clothing and other personal items) are essentially a pantry and closet are run by students, with organization and stocking handled by student volunteers, teachers and support staff. Various student groups (i.e. student government, Interact club) host food drives to maintain the pantry’s stock.

The enterprise recently benefited from a generous donation. “Assistant Principal Patricia Avelli and I met with Maggie Boba from the Harborfields Alliance for Community Outreach (HACO) at the Old First Presbyterian Church in town,” Huntington UFSD neighborhood aide

Evelin Vilorio said. “She provided a tour of their donation space and shared more about HACO’s long-standing mission.”

During the visit, Ms. Boba presented a generous donation for the Huntington High School initiative, which included:

• Five $100 Visa gift cards to help restock the pantry

• A bag of new coats for students

• New winter accessories

• Five bags of non-perishable food items

HACO was established in 2001 by Harbor ields alumni with the goal of ensuring that all children have access to the necessities of daily living food, clothing, and essential items. It is a community-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization committed to supporting families in need within the Harbor fields community.

The Harborfields and Huntington school district enjoy a close working relationship. When the Huntington High School gym was severely damaged by a flood five years ago, Harborfields played host to the Blue Devil varsity and JV girls’ basketball teams. The two districts also collaborate on joint boys’ and girls’ fencing and swimming and diving, girls’ gymnastics and girls’ wrestling teams.
