New Bus Transportation App for Parents Introduced
August 25, 2025
Huntington UFSD has sent invitations to parents via their email addresses on file with the district to create accounts with a new bus transportation software app called Stopfinder. Once the new accounts are up and running, parents will be able to view their child’s bus route information by navigating to September 2 on the district calendar within the app.
“This year, the district is introducing Stopfinder as primary platform for sharing route details with families,” explained Deputy Superintendent Christopher J. Hender, who oversees the district’s transportation office. “In the coming weeks, GPS tracking will also be enabled to further support families with up-to-date transportation information.”
As adjustments are made to pick-up and drop-off times, the Stopfinder app will automatically refresh with the most current information. Mr. Hender said the district will also be sending out additional ParentSquare notifications when the GPS feature of the app is ready for parent use.
“From the leader in school bus transportation software, Stopfinder is the all-in-one parent engagement app designed by parents for parents to keep you in the know,” states the company’s website. “Receive bus location (ETA and Geo Alerts available) and messages, updates and alerts in real-time, send forms and other information. No other parent app provides this much information in real-time to parents and school transportation departments. Think of the peace of mind when parents and guardians know where their child’s bus is and when their student arrives at school or when dropped-off at the bus stop. All this power in the palm of your hand.”
Parents are asked to take note of the following important reminders:
1. During the first few weeks of school, students should arrive at their assigned bus stop at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time.
2. UPK and kindergarten students require a parent/guardian to be present at the bus stop in the afternoon in order to be released from the bus. If no one is at the stop, the child will be transported back to their school. It will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to pick up the child at the school.
3. If you do not receive a Stopfinder email or if you need to update or add an email address, send a message to Stopfinder@hufsd.edu for assistance.
“We appreciate your cooperation as we implement this new system and look forward to a safe and successful school year,” Mr. Hender said.
