April 11, 2025
The Huntington Blue Devil girls golf team is off to a blazing start this spring, stringing together three straight victories and proving they’re a serious contender on the course.
Led by head coach Michael Marinello and volunteer assistants Bob Colvin, Jenna Merget, and Michele Kustera, the Blue Devils have found their groove, fueled by strong leadership, hard work and undeniable chemistry.
The team’s starting lineup consists of Claire Parks, Sofia Vias, Madelyn Falk, Ali Learned, Vincenza Garofalo, Katie Cocoman, Jessica Lee, Lauren Donaghy, Chloe Donovan and Isabella Careccia-Johnson has been instrumental in the early-season surge. Each player has stepped up with consistent play and poise under pressure.
Huntington plays its home matches at the town’s Dix Hills Park, where the Blue Devils have turned their familiarity with the course into a major advantage. In their latest win over West Babylon, the team delivered one of its most complete performances of the season.
“These girls are dialed in,” Marinello said. “They’ve been putting in the effort on and off the course, and it’s showing in their results. We’re proud of how they’re competing and representing Huntington.” The girls have battled frigid spring temperatures that tested both their focus and resilience.
Beyond the starting lineup, the Blue Devils are bolstered by a deep and talented roster, including Jasmine Awuah, Avery Davidson, Katherine Duke, Mia Einemann, Carly Gallagher, Gabriela “Gabby” Genao, Daniella “Ella” Granito, Iliana Jarmolowski, Olivia Kaufman, Giovanna Lanfranco, Cecilia “Ceci” Lee, Fiona Lynch, Leah MacManus, Emily McCarthy, Dylan McKean, Elizabeth “Lily” Michaelson, Regan Murtagh, Casey Myers, Ella Palatnek, Audrey Sherwood, and Louisa Skrobela.
Up next, Huntington faces a tough doubleheader challenge on April 23 against Half Hollow Hills East and Hills West. It’s a matchup that will test the team’s momentum and competitive edge.
With depth, drive and rising confidence, the Blue Devils appear ready to take on whatever comes next. “One thing’s for sure; this team is just getting started and the best may be yet to come,” Marinello said.
