Washington Primary School kindergarteners and first graders recently embarked on an exciting field trip to learn about the wonders of the solar system! The trip was the perfect way to wrap up their studies on the planets, the moon, the sun and the amazing vastness of space.

The youngsters also enjoyed hands-on activities and interactive displays that helped them understand the size and distance of planets in space. They marveled at how the sun’s energy helps Earth stay warm and even got to see models of the planets to help visualize how the solar system works.
“The trip wasn't just about learning facts; it was about sparking curiosity and imagination,” Washington Principal Dr. Michelle Richards said. The students asked lots of questions, eagerly raising their hands to learn more. “Why does the moon change?” one student asked, while another wondered, “Is there a planet where it’s always daytime?”
It was a day full of exploration, discovery, and fun, leaving them inspired to learn more about the universe around them. Washington Primary School’s field trip to the solar system was a memorable experience that helped make the vast and fascinating world of astronomy come to life!
“By the end of the field trip, the children had a new appreciation for the wonders of space and the science behind it,” Dr. Richards said.
