Four Huntington Artists Tapped for Heckscher Museum Exhibit

April 2, 2025

Four Huntington High School artists have been chosen to exhibit their work at this year’s Long Island’s Best Young Artists at the Heckscher Museum. Estiven Segovia, Erik Satanovsky, Ethan Mortensen and Anya Goleski will have artwork on display from April 6-May 25.

Now in its 29th year, Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at The Heckscher Museum is the only juried exhibition on Long Island that offers high school students the opportunity to show their work in a museum. Each year, students in grades 9-12 are invited to create a work of art inspired by artwork shown in the Museum during the school year and submit to this juried exhibition.

This year, 67 public and private schools submitted students’ artwork for jurying. In all, 455 entries were received and consulting curator Meredith A. Brown and guest juror Beth Atkinson selected 77 for display.

The exhibition opens to the public on Sunday, April 6, with an exclusive Friends and Family Preview Day and Awards Ceremony for exhibiting artists on Saturday, April 5. Mr. Segovia’s piece captured an Achievement Award in Digital Art.

Messrs. Segovia, Satanovsky and Mortensen are all studying with art teacher Kasmira Mohanty. Ms. Goleski studies under art teacher Kristin Singer.
