Senior Reese Rinaldi Chooses University of Florida
May 30, 2024
When it comes to being involved it’s hard to match the record of Reese Rinaldi over the past four years. The Huntington High School senior has had a hand in just about everything that goes on in the building. The teenager is headed to the University of Florida in the fall as she prepares for a career as a lawyer.
Treasurer of the Class of 2024 and the National Honor Society and Science Honor Society and secretary for the school-wide student government, Ms. Rinaldi has also captained three Huntington varsity teams, suiting up for the Blue Devils in soccer, basketball and lacrosse.
“I am extremely excited to attended the University of Florida next year,” Ms. Rinaldi said. “When applying to schools it was always a strong contender. I love the campus and the school spirit and academics are very strong. After college my plan is to go to law school and become and attorney. Both of my parents are lawyers and I have always wanted to do the same.”
The teenager said “being involved” has been the key to her success. “It has taught me how to manage my time and work efficiently,” Ms. Rinaldi said. She considers herself fortunate to have been surrounded by teachers and classmates who were willing to help her succeed.
All-Division in both soccer and lacrosse, Ms. Rinaldi added Academic All-County honors in basketball this past winter. An 11 time New York State Scholar Athlete Award recipient, the senior was a Suffolk County Soccer Coaches Association scholarship winner last fall.
Ms. Rinaldi is a familiar figure around Huntington High School, helping with the morning announcements over the public address system and taking thousands of photos at events. She has been a mainstay in the photography program, working closely with teacher Pamela Piffard-Williams.
“My experience at Huntington has been amazing,” Ms. Rinaldi said. “I have been lucky enough to be involved in so many different things and get the most fulfilling experience. I will definitely miss it very much.”
