Huntington Booster Club Baseball Camp in June

The Huntington Booster Club is sponsoring a four day baseball camp on June 3, 4, 10 and 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Huntington High School. Registration is now available online by visiting www.bluedevilboosterclub.com and clicking on the link for Register: Huntington Booster Club Camp.

The baseball camp is open to boys entering grades 2-8. Blue Devil varsity head coach John Romano will direct the camp. Instruction, drilling and scrimmaging will focus on pitching, fielding and hitting skills. Players should bring their own equipment, such as glove, bat and a batting helmet if they have one. The camp seeks to build on the last winter’s indoor series of baseball clinics in the high school and Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School gyms. A former college player and a current Huntington UFSD physical education teacher, Coach Romano is striving to build a competitive and lasting Blue Devil baseball program that offers outstanding experiences to players.

The high school baseball and softball fields will be utilized for fielding, batting and pitching. The June dates for the camp come at parent and player request so as not to interfere with summer vacations and other camp commitments.

“The Huntington baseball program is open to everyone,” Coach Romano said. “All of us are looking forward to the camp and developing the skills of every participant.”
