Natalia Hernandez to Pursue Career as English Teacher
May 4, 2024
Natalia Hernandez is a wonderful young woman with a work ethic that is second to none. The Huntington High School senior has earned high grades over the past four years and gained the respect of her classmates and teachers.
Ms. Hernandez was recognized as a Distinguished Senior earlier this spring after compiling an academic grade average of at least 90 during every semester of high school.
The senior plans to attend Long Island University and study for a career as an English teacher. An articulate young woman who is a gifted speaker and writer, Ms. Hernandez loves the classroom.
The teenager stated her success can be attributed to persistent dedication to achieving her goals, perseverance in overcoming challenges and invaluable support from her family during stressful times.
She’s especially enjoyed such classes as Advanced Placement Seminar and AP Research. Ms. Hernandez has been inducted into the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society.
The senior captured the Mark J. Epstein Leadership Award presented by the Suffolk County Jewish Advisory Board for Ms. Hernandez’s stirring essay on “effectively combatting antisemitism.”
The teenager has engaged in a well-rounded experience, including clubs and sports. A gifted guitarist, Ms. Hernandez has thoroughly enjoyed participating in Huntington’s jazz ensemble. An internship at J. Taylor Finley Middle School was both informative and rewarding.
As she gets ready to move on with her life, there is little chance of Ms. Hernandez ever forgetting where she came from or the classmates and teachers who she has worked alongside and grown with intellectually, socially and in every other possible way.
