Girls’ Soccer Intramurals for Students in Grades 7-12

May 23, 2024

As the spring athletic season winds down and the school year heads into its final weeks, new Huntington High School varsity girls’ soccer team head coach Jose Alfaro has organized an intramural program for girls’ in grades 7-12.

The program will kick-off next Tuesday (May 28) at 2:45 p.m. and run until 4:15 p.m. J. Taylor Finley Middle School students can join the fun as soon as they arrive at Alumni Field – the new turf field at the high school. Can’t make it next Tuesday? No problem, come the following week.

The sessions will continue through May and June. The program will include general conditioning and training along with an opportunity to learn more about the sport of soccer. Participants can explore offensive, defensive and special team skills as their individual interest dictates.

Coach Alfaro is a Huntington High School graduate where he played for the Blue Devils. He has been coaching the Huntington JV boys’ soccer team for many years and developed many powerful squads. He’s now turning his attention to the girls’ varsity and is already working hard to be successful in his new assignment.

All Huntington UFSD girls in grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the intramural program regardless of skill level. Need more information? Reach out to Coach Alfaro at 631.629.9366.
