Ms. Famiglietti has earned her fair share of awards over the years and rightly so. The teenager was recognized as a Distinguished Senior this spring after compiling an academic grade average of 90 or better during every semester of high school.

The senior said the key to her success has been her work ethic, which was ingrained in Ms. Famiglietti during her earliest years of schooling. The teenager’s mother is a teacher, so education has always been held dear in her house and she herself has long understood the value and outright necessity of a good education.

Ms. Famiglietti plans to pursue a double major in college, studying criminal justice and psychology at LIU Post. Her love for school and learning in general will serve her well as she moves on with her life following next month’s graduation. The teenager has always enjoyed learning new things along with the sheer challenge of mastering difficult concepts.

A simple philosophy that’s been reinforced many times over the years has made a real difference in Ms. Famiglietti’s life. She said her parents have always told her that she can be anything she wants to be and that she should always be her own person and the world is hers. She’s never forgotten those words and has come to understand the meaning of them and believe in the sentiment they express.

A talented artist, Ms. Famiglietti has twice participated in the Heckscher Museum’s Long Island’s Best Young Artists initiative. Her creative side has served her well over the years and has complimented her academic pursuits in numerous disciplines.

The senior has enjoyed working with classmates on projects and research assignments. She offers thanks to her “amazing teachers” and will graduate from Huntington High School with a near perfect academic grade average.

As she prepares to move on to the next stage of her life, Huntington faculty members have little doubt that Ms. Famiglietti will continue to realize success.
