Kaitlyn Sansiviero

Wayne Sansiviero is a Huntington and Michigan State alum. Kaitlyn Sansiviero saw everything she wanted on the East Lansing, Michigan campus. The university enrolls more than 51,000 students, including over 40,000 undergraduates on its 5,300 acre campus.

Ms. Sansiviero is a happy young woman with a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. Her grandfather, Peter taught physical education in Huntington UFSD for three decades and is himself a Blue Devil alum.

Recognized as a Distinguished Senior after compiling an academic grade average of at least a 90 during every semester of high school, Ms. Sansiviero said the key to her success has been her ability to balance academic responsibilities with sports, extracurricular interests and a part-time job.

Ms. Sansiviero participated on the varsity gymnastics team in each of the past two years. It was Huntington’s first foray into the sport in nearly three decades. The senior and her teammates practices and competed at Harborfields, which is the host school for the combined team.

The teenager has also served as an administrative assistant with the varsity boy’ wrestling and lacrosse teams. Named a New York State Scholar Athlete, Ms. Sansiviero said she has enjoyed building friendships with her classmates and teammates and her supportive teachers who have mentored her, especially art teacher Ayallah Jeddah.

Ms. Sansivero said that striving for and realizing her own personal growth over the past four years has been “most important” to her.

The senior has a magnetic personality. She draws people in. It’s hard not to have an enjoyable time while in her presence.

While Ms. Sansivero will surely miss life in Huntington, she’s thrilled to be moving on the Michigan State and can’t wait for all the new experiences coming her way.
