Charlotte Gordon Hosted at Suffolk Valedictorian’s Luncheon

Charlotte Gordon was among the county valedictorians feted at a luncheon hosted by the Suffolk County School Superintendents Assn. at Villa Lombardi’s. The Huntington High School student is No. 1 academically in the Class of 2024.

Ms. Gordon was joined at the 30th annual luncheon by her parents, English teacher Kelly Krycinski, Principal Brenden Cusack and Superintendent Beth M. McCoy.

The teenager is headed to Massachusetts Institute of Technology after acing all of Huntington’s most challenging courses.

“Charlotte is an amazing, hardworking individual with an incredible future ahead,” Mr. Cusack said. “It was so wonderful getting to spend a little time with her and her family at the luncheon, along with Mrs. McCoy and Mrs. Krycinski, whom Charlotte chose as her faculty guest. Mrs. Krycinski has been an inspiration to Charlotte and to so many other students over her years in the district and I could not imagine a better choice! The afternoon was truly a pleasure in every way.”

Ms. Gordon cites trying her best in all of her courses and extracurricular activities as the key to her success. She is comfortable seeking help from her teachers when she needs such assistance. President of the high school’s Key Club chapter, concert mistress of Huntington’s symphony orchestra, editor in chief of The Dispatch student newspaper, publicist of the Environmental Club and an intern at Cold Spring Harbor Lab’s DNA Learning Center, the senior has shined over the past four years.
