Aidan Geller Wins Band Parents of Huntington Scholarship

July 26, 2024

The Band Parent Association of Huntington has awarded Class of 2024 member Aidan Geller with the organization’s annual $1,000 scholarship in recognition of his contributions to the Blue Devil marching band program and to music in general in the district.

BPAH co-presidents Ivy Soric and Jennifer Simon were on hand to announce the award at the senior departmental awards and scholarships ceremony in the Huntington High School auditorium.

Mr. Geller intends to study environmental science at the University of Tampa. He was integrally involved in the marching band, wind ensemble and pit orchestra.

An Advanced Placement Scholar with Honors, Mr. Geller was recognized as a Distinguished Senior. He was a member of multiple academic honor societies.

The teenager said he credits his success at the high school to his involvement in school clubs such as Interact and A World of Difference. These clubs helped him build connections in the community and win the support of family, friends and teachers. They have helped him weather the challenges of tough classes and balance academics with extracurricular activities.

Mr. Geller especially enjoyed the AP Capstone set of classes, AP Environmental Science, AP Government and Politics and AP African American Studies among others.

Mr. Geller served as the Interact Club president, AWOD and the Social Studies Honor Society. At the Resilient Long Island symposium he was invited to present his poster titled “Remediating Coastal Water Quality through Sugar Kelp Aquaculture.”

Mr. Geller considers himself “lucky to have such amazing friends” during his involvement in the high school’s club program.
