Jack Ruthkowski Garners $5,000 Lions Club Scholarship

July 24, 2024

The Huntington Lions Club is sure that Jack Ruthkowski is headed for an exceptional and altogether successful experience at college; during his professional career and in life in general.

The organization presented the sensational Huntington High School Class of 2024 member with a $5,000 scholarship award to help defray college related expenses.

An Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor, Mr. Ruthkowski plans to study aquatic and fisheries science at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse.

A member of the Blue Devil varsity bowling and Unified bowling teams, the teenager played key roles in a number of Key Club coordinated events, including K-Factor, blood drives and school dances. He also participated in the high school’s Environmental Club and has been a standout in the photography program.

The key to his success has been taking classes that he enjoys and is passionate about. He loves to stay busy and gravitates toward community service related activities.

Huntington Lions Club President John DeLorenzo was on hand to present the $5,000 scholarship to Mr. Ruthkowski at the high school’s senior academic scholarships and awards ceremony.
