Hannah Song Presented Gooding Wellness Scholarship

Hannah Song has been presented the second annual Gooding Wellness Group Aspiring Helper Scholarship. The Huntington High School Class of 2024 member plans to study nursing at the University of Connecticut.
Huntington alum Gordon Gooding, the founder and director of the Cold Spring Harbor based Gooding Wellness Group funded the award, which includes a $250 stipend.
An Advanced Placement Scholar and member of Huntington’s National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and Science Honor Society chapters, Ms. Song said the key to her success has been her ability to balance school work, clubs, sports and social life. Staying on top of her work while also making time to have fun has helped her achieve.
Ms. Song has earned top grades while playing on the Blue Devil varsity field hockey and girls’ golf teams. She also found time to be active in student government.
The Gooding Wellness Group Aspiring Helper Scholarship requires the recipient to have overcome one or more obstacles in their academic or personal life and displayed resilience and a strong ability to bounce back and persevere; demonstrated commitment to helping others, such as volunteer work in the community, membership in clubs with a helping mission, assisting teachers, being some their friends rely on for support or guidance; chosen to pursue a college degree in mental health, healthcare or teaching.
