Finley Community Club to Offer Library Tech Support

January 25, 2024

Finley Community Club members will be in the teen room of the Huntington Public Library’s station branch on Saturday, February 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon volunteering as tech support assistants for parents and students.

The Finley seventh and eighth graders will be on hand to help parents learn more about both the district’s “parent portal” and the Parent Square program. Participants will learn how to set-up and check these systems, which allow parents to access school related information about their child.

An overview of the library’s homework help program will also be available. Parents will be able to learn about the options available after school to help students.

There will also be a focus on library resources, including how to obtain a library card; availability of notary public and passport services; and the language classes offered.

“Finley Community Club students give back to the community because we are the community,” according to the organization.

The club’s annual program provides a way to build foundations, leadership and a sense of community and family at Finley. The organization offers guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of students.

Finley teachers Ingrid Moreira and Jessica Mollica serve as the club’s faculty advisors.
