Trustees Accept Donations to Huntington UFSD

Huntington School Board members formally accepted seven separate donations to the district during a public meeting of the trustees in the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School auditorium on Monday, February 5.
Huntington High School alum and district parent Sherry Cesare presented a donation of a Gaga Ball pit to Woodhull Intermediate School. The donation has a value of $6,132.22.
The Huntington Booster Club donated a large bronze dedication plaque honoring iconic Blue Devil wrestling coach Louis D. Giani, which will be affixed to the wall of the high school gym lobby. The donation is valued at $4,412.56.
A framed biographical profile of Coach Giani, which will be installed alongside the dedication plaque was donated by Huntington High School alum and School Board President Xavier Palacios. The donation is valued at $610.63.
The Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School PTA donated $2,500 for use in offsetting the cost of student field trips.
Helen Hoffman donated $380 worth of photographic lighting equipment.
Katherine Hiscox donated 14 copies of “Pedro’s Treasure,” as well as various hats, mittens, gloves and socks to Jefferson Primary School. The donation is valued at $300.
Theodore Leavy is donating labor and materials to refurbish the garden and build a waterfall at the entrance of Huntington High School. Mr. Leavy will complete this endeavor as his Eagle Scout project. This donation has an approximate value of $700.
