Trustees Adopt School Calendar for 2024/25

The Huntington School Board has adopted a proposed district calendar for the 2024/25 school year. Trustees voted unanimously at their February 5 public meeting to approve the plan, which will have school begin on Tuesday, September 3 and finish on Friday, June 27, 2025.
Teachers and staff are required to be in their respective building for meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, August 28-29. There will be 180 days of instruction with three other days set aside for faculty conferences. Two contingency days are also built into the plan to address possible school closings due to weather or other emergencies.
Classes will not be held on October 3-4 (Rosh Hashanah, October 14 (Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day), November 5 (Election Day/Superintendent’s Conference Day), November 11 (Veterans Day), November 28-29 (Thanksgiving recess), December 23-January 3 (winter recess), January 20 (Martin Luther King Day), January 29 (Lunar New Year), February 17-21 (President’s Day/mid-winter recess), March 31 (Eid al-Fitr), April 14-18 (spring recess), May 23 and May 26 (Memorial Day recess), June 6 (Eid a-Adha) and June 19 (Juneteenth Day).
Should there be an emergency related closure during the school year, classes will be in session on May 23. Should a second make-up day be required, classes will also be in session on June 6.
