Adult Ed Program Offers Financial Workshop Sessions

Among the dozens of offerings during the spring semester of Huntington UFSD’s Adult Continuing Education program will be a Financial Workshop course that features four separate seminars.

Classes will meet at Huntington High School in Room 125. Registration is $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents. The seminars include Foundations of Investing (March 4), Stocks: The Nuts & Bolts (March 11), Focus on Fixed Income (March 18) and Retirement by Design (March 24). Each session will run one hour from 7:00-8:00 p.m. The workshop will be presented by Vincent Sama.

Snapshot course profiles include:

Foundations of Investing: Building our investor IQ starts with understanding the basics. Learn the importance of developing a strategy, the impact of asset allocation and the influence of inflation on your long-term goals.

The Nuts & Bolts: Learn the differences between common and preferred stock, the importance of dividends, ways to craft your stock strategy and different ways to own stock. This program is specifically tailored for individuals like you who are serious about their financial goals – whether you’re just getting started or seeking perspective as a well-seasoned investor.

Focus on Fixed Income: Owning investments that may provide you with regular income can be a smart decision. That’s why it’s a good idea to learn how such fixed-income investments as bonds may help you to reach your financial goals.

Retirement by Design: How do you want to retire? Whether you are 10 or 40 years from retirement, you’ll learn investment strategies you can use now to help design the retirement you want tomorrow.

Online registration and payment is available now by logging onto https://bit.ly/476miH7. Once you’re on the class listings page, you can use filters to narrow the course display to specific days of the week.

Click on View Details for any class and additional information will be displayed along with an opportunity to register. Once registration information has been entered and is complete you can choose to Buy Now or Add to Basket and return to the class offerings page and select one or more additional courses. You also have an option of creating a My School Bucks account to checkout or you can just checkout as a guest.

The adult and continuing education program is self-sustaining. It is conducted primarily for adults in the community, but is open to those as young as 16 years of age wherever space exists, with the exception of basketball and where otherwise indicated.
