Jefferson Primary School has stood tall for more than 60 years and is looking better than ever after its entrance area was spruced up in the run-up to opening day next Tuesday, September 3.

Jefferson Elementary School opened in September 1962. The building has served various grade configurations figurations over the years and today features hundreds of students spread across kindergarten through third grade.

“At Jefferson Primary School, we are thrilled to welcome our students with a vibrant and inviting entrance, thanks to the collaborative efforts of our dedicated PTA, head custodian John Farkas and building aide Laura Brite,” Principal Valerie Capitulo-Saide said. “Their creativity and hard work have transformed the front of our school into a warm and welcoming scene, complete with freshly painted pencils on the poles and charming wooden cutouts, including a school bus, caterpillar, bee, crab, turtle, and beaver, to name a few.”

Teachers have been visiting the school to prepare their rooms and get the classes organized. An enthusiastic group of students is expected this year, proudly upholding Jefferson’s storied traditions.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for their dedication in making our school a special place for our students to begin their educational journey,” Ms. Capitulo-Saide said.
