August 14, 2024
Kaylee Adams and Jannel Marroquin completed standout runs through Huntington High School by being honored by the Huntington Association of Retired Teachers and Employees with $1,500 scholarships.
The formal presentation was made by HARTE President Martha Ironman at the high school’s senior scholarships and awards ceremony in the auditorium.
The two HARTE scholarship award recipients are held in high esteem by their teachers and classmates. Each of them has contributed in their own unique way to the high school over the past four years.
Ms. Adams will be attending the University at Albany to study biology on a pre-med track with an interest in becoming a trauma surgeon.
Ms. Marroquin is headed to Providence College in Rhode Island where she plans to pursue a degree in biology/biological science with a minor in education.
Mrs. Ironman spoke about each of the HARTE scholarship award recipients and their personal qualities. She also briefly discussed the organization and its continuing commitment to Huntington USFD and its students.
The HARTE scholarship is funded by dues from the organization’s approximately 400 members.
