Huntington Football to Honor its Seniors at Saturday’s Game
September 17, 2024
The Huntington High School varsity football team will honor players who are members of the Class of 2025 at Saturday’s football game against Newfield at Blue Devil Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. Admission is free.
This is the Huntington football team’s 101st season. Blue Devil head coach Ronald E. Wilson complimented all 15 seniors for their “longtime commitment” to the program, with most members of the group suiting up for the first time as seventh graders at J. Taylor Finley Middle School. Most of them attended games even prior to wearing a Huntington uniform, sitting in the bleachers while still in elementary school.
The seniors include Justin Agyeman, Henry Alvarez-Zelaya, Gustavo Flores Canales, George Garcia, Dylan Heller, Thomas Kline, Keegan Malone, Timothy McDonald, Ethan Naima, Sean Posillico, Ryan Ramirez, Thomas Smith, Jordan Thorbourne, Adrian White and Nile Williams.
Several of the seniors are playing key starting roles on the team and Malone, McDonald and Smith are three of the team’s four captains.
The seniors will be honored with individualized posters with their names and numbers and announcements over the public address system.
The teenagers are savoring every minute they are wearing a Huntington uniform, enjoying the camaraderie of their teammates and coaches. They all know their high school gridiron careers will end soon enough, but they are also all happy to be members of the Blue Devil football family. That will continue forever.
