Huntington Key Club Chapter Ready for Community Service

September 10, 2024

Huntington High School’s Key Club chapter is one of Long Island’s oldest and most active. More than 100 students are expected to participate in the organization’s activities this year. The group is led by eight enthusiastic club veterans.

English teachers Kelly Kaiser and Gina Colica serve as the Key Club’s faculty advisors. “Key Club is a branch of Kiwanis, which is a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping children internationally,” Ms. Kaiser said. “Key Club members participate in community service projects which help build character and develop leadership skills. We are excited for a great year ahead and look forward to making a difference.”

This year’s executive board includes Brennan Ackerman (president), Avery Joynt (vice president), Emma Marsala (secretary), Nataly Posada (treasurer), Jordana Boxer (publicist), Louisa Skrobela (historian) and attendance chairs Nicholas Francis and John Joyce.

“This amazing crew will lead our Key Club at great events like the Target Tour, Cupid for the Cure, K-Factor and biannual blood drives,” Ms. Colica said.

“With the new school year in full effect, we are excited to pick back up where we left off,” Mr. Ackerman said. “Members can expect many great events throughout the year including Target Tour and K-Factor. Key Club is an amazing way for students to make a positive impact within their community and I am extremely excited for the year ahead. Existing and new members are welcome to join us Sep 19th at 2:20 p.m. in room 140 for an interest meeting. “
