Blue Devils Claim Conference I Golf Championship

The Huntington High School boys’ golf team claimed the Section XI Conference I title with an exhilarating finish at the scenic Swan Lake Golf Club. The competition was fierce, culminating in tiebreaker against Sachem, which the Blue Devils won to secure the championship.

The tournament featured intense performances by several teams, with Huntington and Sachem finishing with identical total scores of 431. The Blue Devils went on to edge their foes in the tiebreaker, showcasing their poise under pressure.

Senior captain led Will Fallon the team with a round of 81 and Will Donaghy finished with an 85 to earn All-Conference Honors. Senior Captains Jake Severine (87) and Chase Gadaire (89) contributed significantly to the team’s success. George Mueger and Jack Corcoran rounded out the strong lineup.

The consistent play of the Blue Devils proved to be the key to victory. “The collaborative effort was vital in as the tournament hinged on a single stroke,” head coach Michael Marinello said.

The coach expressed immense pride in his players’ resilience and determination. “Winning in a tiebreaker is a testament to the hard work and focus of our team. I’m particularly proud of Will Fallon and Will Donaghy for earning All-Conference honors. Everyone played a key role in this hard-fought victory.”
