Huntington Girls Tennis Joins Pink Aid Fundraiser
October 18 , 2024
Huntington Blue Devil girls’ tennis players are joining their colleagues from Cold Spring Harbor and Harborfields on Sunday (October 20) for a double round robin tournament at Cold Spring Harbor High School to benefit the mission of Pink Aid, a not-for-profit whose mission is to help underserved breast cancer patients survive treatment with support and dignity, to provide screening and financial assistance to those in need and to empower breast cancer survivors to heal by helping and inspiring others.
Check in is set for 9:30 a.m. for players in grades 4-7, who will play until 12 noon. Check in for those in grades 8-12 is set for 12:30 p.m. with doubles round robin matches continuing until 3 p.m.
Registration can be accomplished by scanning the QR code for the event. There is a $40 minimum donation to play. Food, including tasty baked goods and refreshments will be available adjacent to the tennis court complex. There will be raffles, too.
Cold Spring Harbor High School is located at 82 Turkey Lane. Last year’s event raised $4,000.
Blue Devil alum Anna Bell Young was one of the original founders of the event, but with the teenager now off to college at Tufts University, Huntington team captain Isabella Palacios assumed responsibility for the Blue Devils’ end of the event.
