Senior Charlotte Curtin’s Enjoying Great Year
October 11, 2024
Charlotte Curtin is enjoying a great start to her senior year at Huntington High School, where she has been starring on the Blue Devil field hockey team this fall.
Newsday tapped the teenager as one of the top returning field hockey players on Long Island this year. Ms. Curtin’s sharp play has helped put Huntington into playoff contention with two weeks to go in the regular season.
President of the Spanish Honor Society, Ms. Curtin is a yearbook club member and has been inducted into the English, Science, Math and National Honor Societies.
The senior is a great student, too. She’s currently considering the University of Connecticut, University of Michigan, University of Massachusetts and Ohio State as possible landing spots for college. “I plan to major in exercise science and hopefully become a coach,” Ms. Curtin said.
The teenager began her trek through Huntington UFSD at Washington Primary School as a kindergartener. She’s always been surrounded by a loyal core group of friends. On the field hockey field Ms. Curtin is intense, but away from competition she has a wonderful sense of humor. She holds many sincere opinions and she isn’t bashful about sharing them.
Ms. Curtin was recently among six players honored at the Blue Devil varsity field hockey team’s Senior Day festivities. She has been a strong player for the team and one of its top scorers over the years.
“My high school experience has been such a fun time,” Ms. Curtin said. “I’ve made some of the best friendships throughout the past four years. I’m definitely going to miss Huntington when I leave for college.”
