Southdown Honors Stars During Busy Month

Southdown Primary School’s Stars of the Month features a dynamic group of boys and girls who have all been working hard in their classrooms and demonstrating commendable behaviors throughout the building.

Southdown teachers honored September’s top students late last week. “We are very proud of these youngsters for the manner in which they come to school and work hard with their teachers while also being all-around wonderful young people,” Principal Jill Amott-Erwig said.

September’s honorees included:

Universal Pre-Kindergarten: Sloane Oliver, Eve Lawrence

Kindergarten: Garrett Weissman, Gian Vilorio Ramos, Alice Sammis

First grade: Liam Hernandez Gomez, James McCarthy, Alexa Martinez, Shivansh Verma

Second grade: Ja’sir Parker, Lucia Robustelli, Henry Schubert, Rubina Jamualuddin

Third grade: Fiona Costanzo, Eva Russo, William Albert, Emily Morales Ramirez

October will be a busy month at Southdown Primary School. Picture Day is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8-9; a kindergarten social is set for Thursday, October 10; Family Engagement Night will be held on Thursday, October 17; the Southdown PTA will met on Tuesday, October 22 at 7 p.m.; the Southdown Book Fair will run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, October 22-24; a third grade social is set for Friday, October 25.

Southdown’s annual Harvest Festival and Halloween costume parade will be held on Thursday, October 31.
