Huntington Highsteppers Recognize Senior Captains

November 20, 2024

The Huntington High School Highsteppers competitive dance team celebrated its seniors at the final day of the regular football season at Blue Devil Stadium.

Captains Alyssa Evans and Rosie Arner were feted before a large crowd. Highsteppers faculty advisor Kristiana Salerno saluted the seniors over the public address system from the press box while the teenagers stood on the field and accepted the crowd’s cheers.

“Our seniors; you are a tremendous asset to the team and we are so proud of the dancers you have become,” Ms. Salerno said. “Each of them brings unique assets to the team and kept this team going on the road to success. The team won’t be the same without them next year! We wish them all the best as they venture into their years after high school.”

The seniors have devoted an enormous number of hours to the Highsteppers over the years, training, rehearsing, choreographing and traveling. Ms. Evans and Ms. Arner have been wonderful ambassadors for the Huntington community and their cheery personalities helped create an upbeat and positive aura around the Highsteppers.

It will be hard to say goodbye to Ms. Evans and Ms. Arner when they both graduate next June and head off to college. They have been such an integral part of the Highsteppers over the years and have helped the dance team develop a reputation for excellence.
