Winter Driver Education Program Announced

Details regarding Huntington High School’s winter driver education program have been announced along with application and registration information. The course will run from December 9 through February 11, 2025.
The winter driver education program is open to students who will reach the age of 16 by December 6 and who hold a New York State learner’s permit.
The program is limited to the first 32 students who file an application and register. The order of registration will be determined by time stamped emails send to driversed@hufsd.edu.
The following is the application schedule:
• Monday: November 18; HHS Seniors, Class of 2025; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
• Tuesday: November 19; HHS Juniors, Class of 2026; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
• Wednesday, November 20; HHS Sophomores, Class of 2027; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
• Thursday, November 21; All others/non-residents; Email sent between 6 a.m. – 11:59 p.m.
The application email sent during the above window must include a clear picture of the application form. Once an applicant receives a response to their email they will be able to register in the athletic office (Room 122) on Friday, November 22 beginning at 2:30 p.m. The cost of the program is $650 for district residents and $675 for non-residents. Checks should be made payable to Huntington High School Driver Education Program.
Lecture classes will held on Monday and Tuesday from 6:00-7:30 p.m. or 7:30-9:00 p.m. Students must attend both days of lecture.
In car driving will be conducted on either Monday and Wednesday (Groups 1-4) or Tuesday and Thursday (Groups 5-8) from 2:30-4:00 p.m. or 4:00-5:30 p.m.
