November 12, 2024
Jefferson Primary School students and parents enjoyed a vibrant STEM Glow Night that left everyone satisfied. The crowd numbered about 120 in all. Families rotated through four interactive stations, each illuminated by black lights to enhance hands-on learning in math and science.
“Each activity was designed to spark creativity, foster critical thinking and promote collaboration,” Jefferson Primary School Principal Valerie Capitulo-Saide said.
The activity stations included:
• STEM Activities: Science and engineering experiments like cup building and exploring balloon static electricity.
• Kinesthetic Learning: Engaging movement-based activities, including skip counting, telling time and glow dancing.
• Math Challenges: Fun games such as Math Jenga, Fraction Sort, Tic Tac Toe, Place Value exercises and Arrays.
• Technology Exploration: Coding activities with Code Bee Bots, Hopscotch Coding and Ozobots.
A new marking period began this week and Jefferson students are both ready and excited for it. They like the challenges that come with it.
