Valerie Ferreira Excels as a Huntington Senior
November 8 , 2024
Valerie Ferreira always has a way of distinguishing herself. The Huntington High School senior has always been a standout in one way or another since her earliest days in the district at Washington Primary School.
Ms. Ferreira spent the fall starring on the combined Harborfields/Huntington girls’ gymnastics team. She was an integral member of the squad and was honored on Senior Day for her overall commitment to excellence.
Earlier this week, Ms. Ferreira was among 41 students to be inducted into Huntington’s chapter of the Science Honor Society. She proudly posed for a photo with the others while holding her membership certificate.
The teenager is planning to pursue a career as an architect. Specifically, she has a strong desire to work as an architectural project manager that is responsible for leading, managing and overseeing entire architectural projects on a daily basis through all phases of work.
Ms. Ferreira loves the science/STEM field and how it encourages critical thinking and causes curiosity and imagination. She feels it also develops “a creative perspective on life, experiments and everyday things.”
The senior is a mover and shaker; she’s a doer. She certainly should never be underestimated. Her drive and determination to be the best version of herself at any one time is nothing short of remarkable.
