HHS Drama Club Presents Kodachrome on Friday & Saturday
November 1 , 2024
Huntington High School drama club members will take the stage this weekend for three performances of the group’s production of the delightful show, “Kodachrome.”
The actors and stage crew members have mastered their roles following weeks of rehearsals under the supportive and experienced eyes of drama club advisor Michael Schwendemann and his team of professionals.
Performances are set for Friday at 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. all in the high school auditorium. The facility is handicapped accessible. Tickets are available at the door priced at $10. Senior citizens (aged 65 and up) will be admitted free to the Saturday matinee.
Huntington drama club faculty advisor Michael Schwendemann is handling directing. Michael Zignon is the technical director. Lauren Dopico and Analia Bonilla are assistants to the director. Mr. Schwendeman is also in charge of set design and also costume and props with an assist from Kyra Scott. The stage backdrop is from Grosh Backdrops & Drapery. Darin Reed is the production’s photographer.
“Love, loss, memories — Kodachrome — snapshots of our lives in black and white or color,” said Mr. Schwendemann in Director’s Notes in the showbill. “As we are invited to observe the lives of the residents of Colchester, Connecticut, do their lives begin to blur and do we begin to see our own lives in their trials and tribulations? Lost loves, lost lives, fading memories — does the play ask us to reflect upon our own lives after seeing what these characters have been through and the decisions they have made? I have often said, ‘No one is truly gone for they live on in our memories.’ As we look through faded photographs, get a whiff of a favorite cologne, or leave a flower for someone, do we keep them with us and secure their legacy for future generations?”
The cast features (in order of appearance) Josie Sullivan, Alex Tine, Walter Lopez, James Stensland, Alexa Schirripa, Deveren Flynn, Michael DiVencenzo, Kyra Scott, Maggie O’Toole, Isabelle Gregorio, Isabella Cruz Ponce, Sofia Rodriguez, Michaela Dopico, Sergio Portillo, Toni Reyes-Sorto and Lily Wasoski.
The stage crew consists of Isa Andrade-Ortez, Logan Apesinov, Jordana Boxer, Gianna Brady, Richard Davis, Charles Desrochers, Heather Herman, Matthew Jimenez, Arly Moreira, Alejandro Orjuela, Alexandra Ramos, Christina Ray, Audrey Sherwood, Charlie Stanforth, Logan Tine and Mya Williams.
