Huntington Artists Display Pieces at Go APE Exhibit

March 26, 2024

Natalie Parrott claimed honors for this beautiful piece of artwork.

Three talented Huntington High School student-artists were chosen to participate in the 17th GO APE Advanced Placement Exhibition at the Art League of Long Island. Seniors Jada Joseph and Jillian Pascucci and junior Natalie Parrott were among a select group of teenager artists picked to display their artwork.

The gallery show, highlighting exceptional work by 103 art students from across Long Island, recently closed out its run at the Art League’s Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery in Dix Hills.

Ms. Joseph’s piece, titled “Kaleidoscope,” is a digital photograph that explores the idea of illusions in photography. The photograph is part of a larger series she is working on for an AP photography course with veteran high school art teacher Pamela Piffard.

“I am honored to have been selected to showcase my work alongside so many other talented students in the Go APE show,” Ms. Joseph said.

Ms. Pascucci’s piece is digital photograph collage. The image represents the fear of death. She is exploring different fears and what they may look like to the person who has that fear in her larger AP series.

Ms. Parrot’s piece is a painting that is a part of her larger series she is working on with art teacher Kristin Singer for her AP in Fine Art portfolio.

“Our students have continually worked so hard to produce incredible works of art,” Mrs. Piffard said. “They always amaze me with their abilities.”
