Blue Devil Girls’ Golf Returns with Determination

As the Huntington varsity girls’ golf team embarks on its second season, there is a sense of determination and excitement. Led by captains Brooke Parks and Jane Callery, the squad is optimistic of success.

The team’s roster is brimming with talent and the coaching staff is committed to developing and refining the skills of every golfer. Michael Marinello returns as Huntington’s head coach. The staff includes volunteer assistants Robert Colvin, Jenna Merget and Michele Kustera who are sharing their love of the sport and working daily with the golfers, who range from experienced veterans to relative novices.

“Brooke Parks epitomizes leadership and excellence in every aspect of her game,” Marinello said. “With a strategic mindset and impeccable technique, Brooke sets the standard for her teammates, both on and off the course. Her ability to remain composed under pressure and inspire those around her makes her an invaluable asset to the team. Whether sinking crucial putts or rallying her teammates during challenging moments, Brooke's leadership shines brightly, guiding the team towards victory with every swing.”

Callery’s resilience and dedication serves as inspiration for her teammates. With her steady demeanor and unwavering focus, the teenager demonstrates a relentless commitment to improvement and success.

“Jane’s ability to navigate the intricacies of the course with precision and grace instills confidence in her teammates and fuels their collective drive for excellence,” Marinello said. “Whether leading warm-ups before a match or providing words of encouragement during tough rounds, Jane’s leadership is a cornerstone of the team's success.”

The team’s deep roster is loaded with potential. Among the skilled athletes ready to make their mark on the course are Jasmine Awuah, Angie Amador, Giana Anfolisi, Jane Callery, Isabella Careccia-Johnson, Avery Davidson, Chloe Donovan, Mia Einemann, Emersen Evans (manager), Madelyn Falk, Vincenza Garafolo, Gabriella Genao, Sophie Hoffman, Abby Hopson, Amani Huq, Olivia Kaufman, Emily Kustera, Giavanna Lanfranco, Sophie Lange, Alexandra Learned, Jessica Lee, Cecilia Lee, Fiona Lynch, Emily McCarthy, Leah MacManus, Dylan McKean, Elizabeth Michaelson, Lily Mitek (manager), Samantha Muller, Riley Murtagh (manager), Casey Myers, Ella O’Heir, Ella Palatnek, Brooke Parks, Claire Parks, Carolina Ramos Saravia, Louisa Skrobela, Hannah Song, Renee Tetrault and Sophia Vias.

“Each member of the team brings their unique strengths and passion for the game, contributing to the collective spirit of excellence and camaraderie,” Marinello said.

A sense of pride permeates the Huntington girls’ golf team. Individual players have come far in their own respective game and there’s excitement for the journey that lies ahead.

“So, keep an eye on the fairways of Huntington, because the future of girls’ golf is bright, and the Blue Devil girls’ golf team is leading the way,” Marinello said.
