Flower Hill Star Students are Spectacular
March 6, 2024
Flower Hill Primary School has a new round of honorees after Principal Cindy Siegel announced February’s Star Student Award recipients.
Flower Hill’s students are a wonderful bunch of young people. The nearly 300 youngsters that are spread from kindergarten through third grade do their best to please everyone while working hard on all of their assignments. Selecting a small group for awards is not an easy task.
Flower Hill opened in September 1954 on the same date as its sister schools, Southdown and Washington. The buildings were erected in responses to the Baby Boom following World War II. All three schools were immediately filled to capacity. Flower Hill and others haven’t missed a beat since then; an enviable record that has now reached 70 years.
Ms. Siegel along with faculty and staff members select students each month to receive special honors. Star Students of the Month Award recipients are understandably proud. They smile when their names are announced and they are only too happy to accept the congratulations of everyone around the building.
The award recipients are cited for their work in the classroom with their teachers and teacher aides as well as their classmates. They are recognized for the kindness and consideration they display all around the building, including at special area subjects such as art, music, physical education and library/technology.
February’s award winners include:
Lucy Chavez Valencia, Keylar Ramos Flores, Andrea Enamorado Sierra, Sarai Reyes Sanchez, Samuel Café, David Dominguez Torees, Shadwaine, Hazel Ramos Moreira, Scarleth Barahona Avila, Evelyn Malone, Lesly Guardado Chabla, Aliya Jamison, Olivia Kocis, Fernanda Ulloa Redondo, Ryan Mace, Yesli Manzanares Polio, Charlotte Jurow, Fasahat Shah, Annabelle Buchner, Rudy Langumas, Lydia Lim, Allison Diaz Guardado, Stefany Velazquez, Reynaldo Sanchez, Dean Lopez Berrios, David Casey, Yaretzi Alvarez Moreria and Sarah Palacios Jimenez
