All-League Jack Ruthkowski Paces Blue Devil Bowlers

March 5, 2024

Senior Jack Ruthkowski garnered All-League honors to pace the Huntington High School varsity bowling team this winter.

Coached by Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School physical education teacher John Walsh and captained by Ruthkowski and senior Andrew Sullivan, the team consisted of nine co-ed bowlers.

The team practiced and bowled its home matches at Larkfield Lanes in East Northport. Northport and Harborfields also calls Larkfield Lanes their home base.

Ruthkowski led the team in scoring average. “Jack is a steady match player and a strong leader,” Walsh said. The coach is looking to build up the roster and welcomes new players. Reach out to him by sending a message to jwalsh@hufsd.edu.

“We had a hardworking team that improved throughout the season,” Walsh said. The roster also included senior Jillian Pascucci, juniors Jupiter Brown, James Masler, Aiden Clarke and Madeline Francis and seventh graders Brady Duke and Harold Cooley.

Ruthkowski, Brown, Pascucci, Masler and Clarke all captured New York State Scholar Athlete Award honors after compiling academic grade averages of above 90 during the winter season. The Blue Devil bowling squad was also named a scholar athlete team.

Coach Walsh is interested in exploring the possibility of further promoting participation in the Blue Devil team by organizing a Huntington Booster Club summer camp at Larkfield Lanes.
