Art Honor Society Welcomes New Members

Huntington High School’s Art Honor Society welcomed 26 new members during the organization’s annual induction ceremony last Thursday night.
The inductees include Ailish Arenth, Anyeline Fonseca Lopez, Brennan Ackerman, Carolina Ramos Saravia, Casey DiGioia, Christopher Granados Alfaro, Dana Saramago, Daniela Ibarra, Eoin Charles, Henry Gerberg, Iverson Menjivar Quintanilla, Isabella Cruz Ponce, Jay Hoff Isabell, Jillian Pascucci, Joselyn Gomez Ordonez, Juan Erazo Turcios, Julia Richards, Keysy Diaz Campos, Kathleen Cocoman, Kimberly Granados Moreira, Lillyanna Miranda, Quinn Rodriguez, Oliver Gerberg, Ronan Sosnowski, Sebastian Ramirez and Thomas Galicia-Martinez.
The group is led by co-Presidents Toni Reyes-Sorto and Layna Abraham, Secretary Keysy Diaz Campos and Treasurer Isabella Careccia-Johnson, webmaster Anibella Fazin and historian Isabella Careccia-Johnson. Art teachers Jennifer Fazin and Kristen Fiorenti serve as the faculty advisors.
Assistant Superintendent Beth McCoy, Principal Brenden Cusack and Assistant Principal Patricia Avelli joined the festivities along with dozens of parents and family members.
The purpose of the Art Honor Society is to inspire and recognize those students who have a profound love or art and demonstrate creative talent. Members work to promote art in the school, community and internationally through various activities and service projects. They help one another to achieve the highest standards and share the importance of art education throughout the district, the community and beyond.
Interim District Director of Fine and Performing Arts Thomas N. Gellert opened the evening by welcoming the crowd and congratulating the soon to be new members of the organization before leading everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Refreshments were served in the auditorium lobby following the ceremony.
