H-ton Boys’ JV Golf Looks to Build on Success

June 21, 2024

The Huntington High School junior varsity boys’ golf team is looking to build upon its achievement from last fall’s inaugural season. The new campaign will tee-off on Monday, August 26.

With a 4-2 record the new Blue Devil JV squad enjoyed a successful debut. “I’m proud of the work they put in and look forward to what we will be able to achieve this coming season” JV head coach James Graber said.

Junior co-captains Anthony Addeo, Andrew Case and Ryan Scanlon provided leadership last fall while freshmen Graham Gooch, Joe Perotti and Will Donaghy combined for a 12-2-1 match record.

The JV golfers worked on their skills and played competitive matches against other junior varsity teams in the area. With their eyes on ultimately making the varsity team, the JV members have an opportunity to practice and play with students with similar skill levels in a friendly team environment.

Any players interested in joining next fall’s junior varsity boys’ golf team are encouraged to reach out to Coach Graber at jgraber@hufsd.edu. Incoming freshmen are especially welcome to try-out for the team.

Tryouts and meets will be held at Sunken Meadow State Park. Practices will be held at the Town of Oyster Bay course.
