HHS Girls’ Lacrosse Intramural Program Announced

January 22, 2024

The Huntington High School girls’ lacrosse program will hold after school intramurals on Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on the new turf field through March 7.

Girls currently enrolled in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in the intramural lacrosse program. These free school sponsored sessions will include general conditioning and training along with an opportunity to learn more about the sport of lacrosse.

Attendance at all sessions is not required. Students can participate when it is convenient. Athletes can explore offensive, defensive and special skills as individual interest dictates.

Participates should come dressed ready to play and bring along sticks, goggles, etc. In the case of inclement weather or exceptionally cold conditions, that day’s intramural session might be cancelled.

Need more information? Send a message to Blue Devil varsity head coach Katie Reilly at katiereilly920@gmail.com.

Huntington has high hopes for success on the field this spring. The varsity will be coached by Reilly and assistants Lauren Blackburn and Christopher Taylor. The junior varsity will be led by head coach Chiara Maimone and assistant Ivano Naccarato. The team at Finley Middle School will be guided by head coach Hildi Stanford and Gregory Dieterich.

Last year’s varsity team reached the playoffs en route to compiling an overall record of 10-7. The JV team had a mark of 12-3-1. The Finley team went 5-2-2.
