Pre-Season Boys’ Tennis Intramurals at Huntington

February 7, 2024

A pre-season boys’ tennis intramural program is available at Huntington High School. Participants do not need to have played on either the Finley, JV or varsity teams last year. Newcomers are welcome. Meet on the tennis courts on Monday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The program will run through Thursday, March 7.

Huntington High School students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in the tennis program. These school sponsored sessions will include general conditioning and training along with an opportunity to learn more about the sport of tennis.

Attendance at all sessions is not required. Participate when it is convenient. Explore tennis and conditioning skills and strategies as individual interest dictates. In case of inclement weather, that day’s intramural session might be canceled.

For more information, contact Coach Jamie Fishlow at triforall1@yahoo.com.

Students interested on playing for the Huntington High School JV or varsity can begin signing up in the nurse’s office on Monday, February 12. The following forms must be submitted to the school nurse prior to participation:

1. Required NYS Health Examination Form (click for link)

Physical exams can be performed by private doctor or school doctor and are valid for one year.

2. Interval Health History for Sports Participation (English/Spanish) (click for link)

A new form is required for each season; must be completed by parent/guardian, signed in ink and dated within 30 days of the start of the season. (It cannot be submitted prior to February 11.)

School nurse Linda Amarante can be reached at 631.673.2146 or lamarante@hufsd.edu.

A parent consent form for athletes (English/Spanish) (click for link) should be handed to the coach prior to practicing.
