Jefferson School Holiday Read Aloud Fun

December 20, 2024

Jefferson Primary School’s fifth annual Family Engagement Holiday Read Aloud was a festive and enjoyable occasion for students and their families.

The event was hosted by Jefferson’s dedicated faculty members, including reading teacher Lisa Sejarto and library media specialist Julie Dooher and many classroom teachers and staff.

“The effort put into the event, from the beautiful North Pole backdrop created by our cafeteria monitor Andrea Floro, to the cozy atmosphere encouraged by inviting children to wear pajamas and bring blankets, shows a commitment to making the holiday event special,” Principal Valerie Capitulo-Saide said. “Mrs. Claus, a delightful character for the occasion, engaged the children by reading aloud the a variety of fun holiday stories.”

To add to the festive spirit, Santa’s elves, who in reality were the principal and teachers, served cookies and milk provided by the always generous Jefferson PTA. Mrs. Claus, spreading holiday cheer, distributed gifts to all the children in attendance.

“Overall, the event was a wonderful success with close to 150 people in attendance, creating joyful memories for everyone involved,” Ms. Capitulo-Saide said. “Wishing the Jefferson Primary School community a happy and festive holiday season!”

The next big get-together as Jefferson School is scheduled for Friday, January 17. The PTA is sponsoring Bingo Night.
