Cast and Crew Look Forward to Spring Musical
December 9, 2024
Several weeks decompressing since the fall play seems to have done the trick for Huntington High School drama club members who are now turning their attention to the school musical in March.
The cast and crew of “Kodachrome” along with faculty director Michael Schwendemann, technical director Michael Zigon and assistants to the director Lauren Dopico and Analia Bonilla took several weeks off before starting to think about the musical, which is set for Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29.
The musical production will mark the final set of drama club performances for dozens of actors, stagehands and musicians who will graduate in June and head off to colleges shortly thereafter.
While rehearsals for “Kodachrome” were grueling at times, they did serve a purpose and everyone saw value in them and ultimately had fun along the way.
An announcement is expected soon from Mr. Schwendemann on the March musical. He consults with building and district administration and also makes inquiries about securing the required rights to the show.
Many, if not most, of the cast and crew of the fall production plans to participate in the spring musical, too. The fall show provided everyone with valuable insight.
Drama club members get a few more weeks off to rest and refresh before the big announcement and the date of auditions is revealed. Auditions and rehearsals will kick-off in January.
Seniors in the fall show included Michaela Dopico, Maggie O’Toole, Josie Sullivan, Sofia Rodriguez, Kyra Scott, Toni Reyes-Sorto, James Stensland, Isabelle Gregorio and Alexa Schirripa
