Finley Teams Win Section XI Sportsmanship Awards
April 19, 2024
Plans are steadily taking shape for the 2024 Homecoming Day celebration. Officials are looking at Saturday, September 28 for the parade, afternoon football game and halftime festivities.
The Finley wrestling team; Finley-White girls’ basketball team and the Finley-White girls’ volleyball team were all recognized with team certificates earlier this week.
Finley’s school colors are blue and white so consistent with Section XI practice, double teams in the same sport are referred to as one of those colors. (For example, Commack teams are listed as Black and Gold.)
Coaches submit ratings for the opposing team’s sportsmanship as well as for fans and the officials. The scores are tabulated by Section XI and announced seasonally for both middle school and high school sports.
