Huntington Trustees Honor Student-Award Recipients

Huntington School Board members and central office administrators honored a dozen J. Taylor Finley Middle School and Huntington High School award recipients at a ceremony during Monday night’s public meeting of trustees in the Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School auditorium.

The teenagers included student-artists and student-historians, who recently claimed awards in the Long Island regional National History Day contest as well as the State History Day finals at SUNY Oneonta last weekend.

Huntington School Board President Xavier Palacios and Huntington UFSD Superintendent Christian Bowen presented each of the teenagers with an award certificate. Principals Brenden Cusack and Traci Roethel were on hand for the festivities as was Chairman of Humanities, 7-12 Joseph Leavy.

Ruby Hoffman – Third Place Individual Exhibit

Isabella Careccia-Johnson - Outstanding Senior Entry

Heileen Torres, Emely Herrera Rivas and Jessica Bree - First Place Long Island Group Website and Outstanding Senior Entry; Third Place in New York State
