Enchanting Evening Planned for Cabaret Night on Friday, June 2

May 31, 2023

Huntington High School’s Cabaret Night will return this Friday, June 2 at Jack Abrams STEM Magnet School. Dinner will be served in the cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. following by the musical program in the courtyard amphitheater at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $25. Proceeds will benefit the choral program.

“Cabaret Night is an annual fundraiser for the choral program,” said Victoria Garbarino, a high school music teacher who leads the choral program. “It is dinner and a show presented by students in the choral program. It starts off with dinner donated by local restaurants and ends with performances by students. It’s a wonderful night, in fact it’s my favorite night of the year because students have the chance to really show off what they can do. When auditioning for Cabaret Night, students are aware that I choose their songs for them. This gives them a chance to learn music that they didn’t know before and also showcases their voices appropriately.”

Last year’s performers included Jack Semelsberger, Alexis Rodriguez, Jake Amend, Dylan Brinn, Mack Brunner, David Chavez , Sam James, Shannon Milner, Sam Soric, Hannah Roberts, Sofia Rodriguez, Maggie O’Toole, Sophia Weiss, Markus Fehrenbacher, Layna Abraham, Liva Camarata, Delia Caruso, Sydney Cordeiro, Michaela Dopico, Zoe Dumas, Lauren Holly, Chloe Hunt, Emily Kustera, Isabella Lanfranco, Mia Molina, Caitlin Murtagh, Alexa Schirripa, Josie Sullivan and Ashley Genao.

A line-up of sensational local restaurants will be catering food for the evening’s dinner hour. Lighting and sound will be in place for the performances in the amphitheater.

Last June’s show drew a crowd that included many district officials. Many of those performing on Friday night will be seniors, who will take the stage for the final time before departing for college.
