Blue Devil Golfers Look to Fall Season
May 26, 2023
The Huntington High School boys’ golf team is already looking ahead to the fall season when the Blue Devils expect to send a formidable lineup onto the links.
Led by experienced stars such as All-County performer Will Fallon and captain Nick Sclafani, the team will be bolstered by five returning starters who bring their unique skills and strengths to the course.
The Blue Devils boast an impressive core of veteran players who will be honing their skills and gaining valuable experience over the summer. Paced by their captain, whose return from a season-ending injury last year brings renewed enthusiasm and leadership, the team is eager to capitalize on their previous successes.
“These returning starters have proven themselves on the course and are determined to build upon their achievements, setting the stage for a formidable season,” longtime head coach Michael Marinello said.
The core of the Huntington High School golf team includes Will Fallon, Nick Sclafani, Thomas Girimonti, Declan Kehoe, Ryan Scanlon, Jake Severine, George Mueger and Chase Gadaire. “This comprises a group of seasoned players who have already proven their abilities on the greens,” Marinello said.
Andrew Case, Harrison Uvena, Anthony Addeo, Graham Gooch, Joseph Perotti, James Larson, Jibreel Murtaza. Even Persampire and Scott Cian will add additional depth to the squad. “With the help of volunteer coach James Graber, these players look to break into the lineup as they continue to develop their skills,” Marinello said.
Bob Colvin joins Graber as one of the staff’s volunteer coaches. “The experience and expertise in the sport have been instrumental in the team’s previous successes and will continue to shape the team’s performance in the upcoming season,” Marinello said.
The team sets high goals, including league and county titles. The fall season officially begins on Monday, August 21, but players will be on the golf course all summer, further developing their skills.
“The team expresses its sincere gratitude to Patrick McCarthy and the members of the Huntington Crescent Club for graciously hosting the Blue Devil team,” Marinello said. “Whenever we step foot on the course, we are fully aware of the exceptional atmosphere that surrounds us. Keep an eye on the Huntington High School golf team as they strive for excellence and seek to leave their mark on the local golfing scene.”
