Huntington’s 14th Annual Film Festival Lineup Set

With 18 short films set to be screened, Huntington High School’s 14th Annual Film Festival at the Cinema Arts Centre on Park Avenue on Monday, May 22 at 7 p.m. is expected to be something very special.

Admission is free. No tickets are required. The general public is welcome to attend as are entire families. The festival’s films will run for a total of about 60 minutes.

“I am very excited to assemble this year’s film festival, “said art teacher Heather Swan, who leads Huntington High School’s video arts program. “We will be presenting a diverse compilation of 18 films that were produced by students representing all four of the video courses as well as a project by my media arts students. We are very fortunate and thankful to have the Cinema Arts Centre hosting this event, since the venue allows us to view the videos on an actual movie screen.”

The festival’s lineup includes:

• “Mormon on a Mission” – Five Obstructions by Landry Flynn

• “Cryptic Kids” – Reality TV Show by Riley LaCosta

• “Taking the Wheel” – Short Story by Katerina Damiano

• “Hot Pockets” – Commercial by Jeremy Allen, Bladimir Cruz Serrano, Alex Castillo Martos, Kenny Galvez, Saul Leon Flores

• “HYB: Many Dreams, One Team” – Documentary by Samuel Klaaren

• “Dance with Death” – 8mm/Film Noir by Landry Flynn

• “Endzone” – PSA by Riley LaCosta

• “A Lock and a Hard Place” – Five Obstructions by William Berry

• “Counterfeit Money” – YouTube Tutorial by Ethan Ambrosio

• “Huntington Girls Track” – Documentary by Emma Polinsky

• “Baller” – Five Obstructions by Danielle Mendikyan

• “The Scarf Killer” – 8mm/Film Noir by William Berry

• “The Lovers” – Art Movement by Riley LaCosta

• “Garlic Bread” – YouTube Tutorial by Christian Chabla-Leon

• “The Call” – PSA by Michael Mendikyan

• “Lovestruck” – Short Story by Katerina Damiano

• “Stitched Up” – Mystery by Katerina Damiano, David Nielsen Goldstein, Riley LaCosta, Danielle Mendikyan, Michael Mendikyan, Finn O’Brien, Heather Swan, Joey Zink – Period 7 Class Project

“This is a great opportunity for these hard working students to share their talents with their family, friends and our community,” Mrs. Swan said.

The filmmakers will be available to discuss their work. Cinema Arts Center refreshment stands will be open before, during and after the film screenings.
