Southdown Honors its April Star Students

May 3, 2023

Southdown Primary School students are encouraged to be the “best versions” of themselves. They all have star qualities; each with his or her own specific talents and gifts. The Stars of the Month for April are a great group of young people, all striving to learn and grow in a way that makes everyone proud.

One Southdown student is selected from each class in the building for formal recognition. The school considers these youngsters to be its stars.

Southdown’s mascot is a dolphin, a mammal known to breach the water surface and splash bystanders. The school’s students are awarded “splashes” for displaying positive behavior in and out of the classroom, being kind to others, demonstrating proper behavior in hallways and even boosting the spirits of someone feeling down.

The honorees include:

Universal pre-kindergarten: Valentina Morales Argueta; Kindergarten: Edward “Eddie” Warner III, Dayana Alvarez, Cameran Kalmar, Adam Johnson; First grade: Fiona Conroy, Alexa Jimenez Henriquez, Colin Engle, Brianna Uzho; Second grade: Ailin Escoto Gamez. Juliette Kelly, Ashton Kalmar; Third grade: William O’Dwyer, Dayana Leiva-Jandres, Fabian Rodriguez Flores, Taylor McAleavey, Jeremiah Strickland

With less than two months remaining in the 2022/23 school year, Southdown Primary School is racing to the academic finish line with enthusiasm. Many fun days lie ahead at the school with a long list of special events planned.
