Finley Boys’ Lax Roster Features Mix of 33 Players

The J. Taylor Finley Middle School boys’ lacrosse team is an unusual mix of newcomers to the sport and seasoned veterans. The 33 player squad will play a 10 game schedule equally split between home and away contests.

Coached by Travis Smith and Jonathan Oliveri, Finley has been concentrating on the fundamentals and playing together as a team. Players are learning their position and how to perform their specific role.

The roster includes seventh graders Grayson Banner, Benjamin Burke, Rhys Carrillo, Charlie Cirlincione, Aidan Collins, Alex Colonna, Cormac Driscoll, Kingsley Evans, Christopher Granito, Christian Guandique, Patrick Hassett, Grady Mindich, Constantine Panagacos, Trevellyan Peters, Charles Rosselli, Spencer Sturges, Jose Walter and Sha’Quan Wilson.

The squad also features eighth graders Blake Bender, Ricardo Berry, Justin Cahn, Edgar Castro Anariba, Jude Creegan, Colby Curran, Finnian Driscoll, Gannon Johnson, Jack Larson, Luke Lomler, Zachary Matthews, Dylan Michaelson, Jeremiah Miller, Keegan Warren and Ryan Waters.

Finley opened the season with a home victory over West Babylon before dropping the first road game at Lindenhurst. Four more home games are set with West Islip Udall, Bay Shore, Northport and Oldfield. Away games are scheduled at West Islip Beach, East Northport, Stimson and Commack.
