Finley Boys’ and Girls’ Track Aims for New Heights

The J. Taylor Finley Middle School boys’ and girls’ track and field teams are benefitting from large turnouts. Both squads are highly competitive this spring and both are able to cover the multitude of events with a degree of depth not scene in recent seasons.

The Finley boys’ team consists of seventh graders Jordan Aguilar Rivera, Chase Anastasia, Cameron Batts, Wilmer Benitez Flores, Rasiere Blizzard, Jacob Boxer, Isaiah Bynum, Alexander Castro-Simpson, Paul Grosso, Michael Grover, Timothy Hardge, Joseph Herman, Gabriel Hernandez Rodriguez, Arturri Landau, James Markotsis, Josue Mendez Bueso, Kayvon Pittman, Rylie Rabino, Joshua Rivas Martinez, Francesco Romero, Maximilian Schmitz, Logan Tine, Brett Wilson and Keven Zuniga Reyes.

The Finley boys’ squad also includes eighth graders Wesley Bueso Zepeda, Alec Cadet, Michael DiVencenzo, Eric Heinz, Greyson Henderson, Townsel Henry, Jordan McClary, Dostin Moreira Moreira, Adan Ntambwe, Isaias Orantes Aguirre and Josue Umana Molina.

The Finley girls’ team features seventh graders Giselle Avelar Romero, Sabrina Bijou, Hanna Boyle, Caleigh Camarata, Critza Cruz, Deisy Dominguez Torres, Timeyah Hardge, Sharon Hernandez Blanco, Iliana Jarmolowski, Gabriella Jones, Olivia Koiyet, Karly Maldonado, Mackenzie McKay, Amaris Moore, Regan Murtagh, Perla Nativi Ulloa, Brianna Occean, Sara Persampire, Taylor Ranft and Aaliyah White.

Finley eighth graders on the team include Allisson Cano Figueroa, Ghemie Cantave, Piper Davis, Chelsea Drummings, Julia Goodwin, Justina Hlenski, Saniah Lewis, Camora McKay, Marilyn Mendoza Virula, Daliah Moreira Moreira, Norah Moskowitz, Audrey Sherwood and A’Shai Vessup.

The boys’ team is coached by Christopher Helmke and Jonathan Garland with the girls’ squad being coached by Timothy Madden and Jake Torres.

The Finley boys’ and girls’ track and field teams have eight schedule meets this spring. The two squads compete at the same site, both home and away. Finley was vie against Deer Park, Kings Park, West Babylon, Bay Shore, Elwood, East Northport, Oldfield and Brentwood.
